Joe Nillo was born in a small town in the heart of the thousand islands in Ontario Canada.
His love of art and raw talent for putting the pencil to paper was noticeable at a young age when he would entertain friends and family with doodles and sketches. Joe acted upon his artistic abilities and took his talents to the country's capital and started a career in the tattoo industry. Joe quickly grew a name for himself while his talent grew with it, wanting to push his abilities further he headed to the West coast to work with like minded individuals and began his entry into a life with a paintbrush, toying with different medias and collaborating within the art community.
Joe continues to let his natural gifts flourish and shares his passion with anyone interested.
“We live in a world created by everyone and everything at the same “time”. Every living being from here to the cosmos is constantly contributing to the fabric of reality. Sometimes, in a moment of absolute bless, it can feel like everything has been tailor-made just for you. Like the entire universe is a neatly gift wrapped package with your name on it.
These moments can feel like our own doing. They can also seem like the Grace of "God" wants to tap us on the shoulder and remind us of how special we really are. The idea of our creator and the created, loses its separation while our lives and body and play out its process.
From the words, we speak, to the movements we dance, to the pictures we make…down to the breaths we take. We recognize ourselves as our own gods, sewing seeds and watching them grow.
This is the spirit that guides my work. To create worlds through imagery that may take me wherever I choose. Like a microcosm of the universe I exist in, my work represents my life, captured in a quantum world of storytelling with possibilities that extend as far as the imagination wants to explore. A story that's as much yours to interpret as it is mine. It is my honour that you would take the time to participate with me and doing so.
My hope…
Is that everyone who visits this little window of experience my work creates, leaves with a spark of inspiration to do the same. A reminder that the canvas of reality is yours to colour however you choose"
With Love and Gratitude,
Joseph Nillo.
